Spontaneous border crossing

Togo & Benin mark the 11th and 12th African countries I’ve visited by bike. Around 9000 km total now. Dense green jungle, red dirt roads, full of life and rich history. Nothing but friendly people.

Today there was a hidden jungle climb with amazing views and tons of switchbacks.

A border can sometimes be just a line on a map. So I took the chance for a quick visit to Ghana.

The night’s hotel didn’t pass inspection. Combined with a cooler day than usual, the decision was made - push through to Lomé and finish a day early.

Which country will be 13th?
