For me, 2025 has been the year of looking on the bright side, so that's what I'm doing now. After all, the timing of this illness could've been much worse if it had come just a few days later. I've always said I don't like big tapers, but the truth is I've only ever really done small tapers and very small tapers, and I like the very small tapers better, so I assume I'd like big tapers even less, but maybe I'll like a massive taper. I felt noticeably better today than yesterday, but still not back to normal.

I saw a guy who I would bet anything is in the championship field and probably a real contender and, believe it or not, the way he acknowledged me with a small nod and slight raise of his hand with no change in his facial expression gave me that distinct impression that he recognized me as someone who would be in that same field as well. I did have the right sort of outfit on to look the part.
