We've been experiencing a dry November with cold, dry stagnant air for the last two plus weeks.  Last week I started under overcast skies, and this week the skies were sunny.  This made the ride feel slightly warmer, even if my thermometer read 12C when I left home (and 14C when I arrived at Frank and Stella's).

Like last week I rode vigorously to get and stay warm, but this week the dirty air irritated my lungs slightly.  I could smell wood smoke and cigarette smoke from no apparent source, although I suspect someone was puffing like a chimney inside a car that passed by recently, on both sides of my ride to and from.

I arrived two minutes early, to my surprise, and soon Stella and Frank appeared.  Together we rode in to the Studio as usual.

When we finally started home I was pleasantly surprised that the temperature had warmed up to 19C, although the air was still thick with muck.

I rode my usual route home, riding quickly until I was on the sunny part of Guadalupe River Trail next to SJC, where I slowed to much the second half of my lunch sandwich.  The remainder of my ride was unremarkable.
