Afternoon Ride

Pedaling around town through the most thick traffic in the world. Racing kids up crazy steep narrow secret roadways in wild Barangays. Then continuing up and down the famous Busay Buak climb.  Beautiful afternoon to ride.

Rain ride 🌧 in the morning 🌄 to the race 🏁. Super hard efforts in the race 🏁. Champion 🏆 age group.  2nd race of the day was brutal.  Three races 🏁 🏁 🏁 in 24 hours caught up with me. After that climbed to the tallest mountain looking over Cebu Philippines

I got carted hard when I was rolling at a very high speed at the very top of the climb where it levels out and a little kid came dashing out of the bushes, running straight across the street with not even looking either way. The little kid was running so fast it looked like he was heading to the christmas tree of his family on christmas day ready to open up presents. He came across my path so fast I didn't have time to hit the brakes and it was full collision situation instantly.  I got launched like a space shuttle, flying through the air. Only to be crash landing on the pavement. The little boy didn't even look to the left or the right. He just sprinted across the road, and I was going at a speed where there was nothing but bike versus little kid in the philippines. It was a super hard getoff and pavement smacking, and the helmet surely saved my life. My elbow immediately swelled up as big as the tennis ball freaking everybody out. A large crowd gathered around and just looked on as I tried to regroup my body and mindset.  Amazingly 👏 I am here typing this now, surviving and immediately focusing on recovery and rehabilitation.
