As the night settles in like a blanket of snow, covering the hills we claim to know. It’s a time to reflect on the tales we’ve spun and the adventures we’ve had in the light. On trails we’ve cut, and some that we’ve found, intertwined on this land where we grow. All leading somewhere in this dark sheltered wood, taking us far from home. Or back to the start to begin again with fresh legs after a chance to rest weary bones. How familiar to stay on courses well known in this season of shadow and darkness. How comforting to stick to trails well groomed forgoing those more overgrown. Gathering with friends and family too, reflecting on moments shared. Resetting again for a new year ahead when the warmth and brightness will flow. Scattering us about as fresh paths are lit up and their possibilities so plainly glow. How joyful to see the forest again and discover fresh clearings and groves. But now we hold close to what matters most, and appreciate the blessings we have. Those who know best the trails we know and who ski in the tracks we’ve made. As we journey from here for adventures ahead, I send with you great glidings of joy. With hope for the future and all that you’ll see, I wish you the best to come. With twists and with turns and adventures galore I wish you a delightful BON SKI!!
