Today started very early, as we (one of my friends is riding with me for the next few days) headed out of Inverloch with first light. Our first 20km were on the busy Inverloch to Venus Bay Rd, which mostly has no shoulder.

Our gambit of an early start paid off, and after an hour we safely turned off onto a couple of gorgeous local gravel roads, eventually connecting us to the Great Southern Rail Trail at the lovely town of Fish Creek, where we stopped for coffee.

We detoured to see the mangroves at Port Franklin, before finishing for the day in the tiny town of Toora, where we will greet the new year.
