‍Last ride of 2025! Here is the lowdown on my year in cycling. 12,460 km up over 400 from last year, and the most I have ever ridden in a year. 98,833 meters climbed, which isn't bad for living in Davis. That is 7.93 meters climbed per kilometer, down from 8.01 in 2024. I hope to raise my m/km to 12+ in 2026. I rode in California, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, and 3 provinces in Ecuador.  My average ride was 81 km long, up from 71 in 2024 and way over my all-time average of 61. I rode for 595 hours, which Strava says is in the top 0.6% of its users.

5,112 (up from 5,042) of the 12,460 km this year were new to me, which is 41%, down from 42% in 2024.  I came in 19th in the US for new roads ridden this year, and 4th in CA.

No crashes or broken bones in 2025, thank God! Maybe more importantly, I rode my first 400 km ride in 2025. I hope to repeat that in 2026, and I would like to take on a 600 km ride to up the ante a bit. I rode 3,291 Randonneur km this year, up from 2,629 in 2024 (5 sanctioned events + 12 permanents). Let's see what 2026 brings!
