The regular Saturday morning run is the lode star of the Padanaram Running Club . It was the first run on the Saturday after Labor Day back in 2024, before the PRC took over the social running scene in the Village on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. So it was pleasing to see a big crowd this sunny but arctic morning on the first regular Saturday of 2026. I counted 19 at the push-off and then I marked two latecomers.

With the bigger numbers and the longer route, the Saturday run frequently sees smaller groups break off at different paces. Which is great, but I found myself running by myself a bit so I wasn’t able to monitor as much of the chatties as I usually am.

Here’s some of what I picked up: Thierry’s awesome 2025 PRC wrap reel - we’re so lucky to be friends with someone so talented & generous with their time; the icy surface conditions - no casualties, I think, same with Thursday night, btw 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻; lots of respect for the Thursday Night PRC runners from the other night - I was there, it was COLD 🥶 and blustery; working in the Carib; John’s new indoor rabbit Millie - she’s on the kitty litter already!; grass or Astroturf in Atlanta; MUFC 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻; the Shaw’s wing bar - so yummy 🤤🤤🤤 but so toxic 🦠🦠🦠☣️☣️☣️; the parking at Market Basket never not being insane; Wahl clippers maintenance; yaka mein the Vietnamese-NOLA second line hangover cure; NOLA Jazz Fest; Brian’s Long Haul 100 no-pacer, no-crew strategy - he needs this to qualify for Western States, Let’s Goooooo! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻; missed connections on Lucy Little; the local holiday fly/cold massacre; fond Salty LR reminiscences from this past Wednesday; bagels etc.
