Also what would have been a short military career turned into a long one.  Thanks to the bicycle

Came into the military with a bad knee that had previous surgery.  Completely destroyed an ACL while in flight school here in Pensacola.  Surgery back then was brutal and I certainly would have been ejected from the Navy.   Instead of surgery I went into full rehab through swimming and cycling.  Then added running and completed a triathlon which was enough to convince a flight surgeon to sign me off good to go.   Every year tho come annual flight physical time I had to convince every doctor that I was “good to go”.  That lasted 28 years.  Still good to go by riding a bike for PERFORMANCE to get health with no ACL.  Just these days I avoid downhill skiing in Colorado. 
Another story for another time. And EVERY ride has a story.  You just got to let it out…
