The idea for this ride was to pay a visit to Bridges Coffee House in Kirriemuir that I found on a ride up that way a few weeks ago. Alas the weather wasn't going to play, but I still wanted the ride. So an earlier start to miss the wet weather rolling in, even though I'd roll through well before the cafe opened. Excuse to head that way again.

Up early and the morning was a peach. Not a cloud in the sky until 8am. The wind was light, but noticeably strengthened around 7am. It was with me to Brechin, less helpful from there though.

Had great fun on the run to Brechin with the wind behind. New roads, sun out, no traffic, what's not to like?

Clouded over around the time I got to Kirriemuir, and I delved into my pocket of sustenance as the town was still asleep.

Rain in the air from Meigle, put on the jacket from Newtyle but never really enough rain to warrant it, it just added to the workout really.

Check of the phone in the lift at the bridge - was I going to do the Gauldry/Cupar loop, aye. Nice to get a bit of climbing in albeit weighted towards the end. Legs started feeling it.
