It was the toughest ride I have ridden so far. The heat was incredible reaching 32-32 degrees. I had to maintain a moderate pace not to overheat and kept breakes a bit longer as usual. Any shadow on the route was more than welcomed and was opportunity to slow down and rest.
To stay hydrated I equipped my bicycle with 4 bottles. I drunk 15 liters and had numerous colas, ice teas, juice and etc. which added, I suppose, another 2 liters.
The pace could have been a bit faster but the organizer included some cobbled sections in the route. During this single ride I crossed more cobbles than in my 3 year stay in Belgium.
Most of the distance I covered riding SOLO apart from first 58 kilometers which I was riding with Hubert (No 532) and some 30 kilometers that I rode with another colleague, Szafar, but this time making sure that I did not benefit from any drag etc.
There was a group of cyclists which kept me motivated as I was meeting / passing them en route. I even tried to beat them but unfortunately the time advantage I made on them was not sufficient and in ranking I lost 1'20". 
My goal was to reach the finish line in 21 hours but I had set it before it became clear that it would be that hot and that the distance was slightly longer than 500 kilometers.
All in all I am satisfied. I t was a good test of my stamina and a strong will as I had numerous thoughts to scratch, make more frequent and longer brakes etc.
