Today was like a tale of two trips.

The first part couldn't have been more perfect. The roads were well paved, quiet, the views picture perfect and it was another climb to get the blood flowing. The gradient was just right. Hard enough to make you sweat but not to make your knees buckle. We'd left the bustle of the M5 behind. We created the top stopped for coffee and coke (fuel). Often the rural downhill roads are the best. They follow the landscape, wind and twist and hug the contours. As always there were hills in the distance and valleys of pristine forests and a lake of blue clear clean water.

The games started with the cars in the second half. No death proof but just a busy road. Flat lake road at first. Cars gave good distance but too many. The climb up was better as there was a slow lane. I beat a small quad bike carrying a load. Tunnels were freaky. Trucks whizzed past and the din rose and echoed all around. At the top it was a massive relief. Descent was turbo and so was the final road to Sarajevo. Policy checkpoint and we were told to use the minor roads. So no KOM segments but arrived safe at the hotel 😃
