When I told Scott I was going to try to beat his and Taylor Spike's FKT for the Wy'cool 50k, he asked if he could come. Obvi! Really strong start. Cold air, undertraining, underhydrating, and who knows what else kicked off some nasty cramping that hit intermittently from mile 13 on. But I pushed hard to keep up with Scott who had an amazing day. Our 6:45 goal dropped to sub-6h at one point. We missed that, but still shaved over an hour off the FKT! Beautiful day to be out there. Good times.
