I got it!  and by 'it' of course I am referring to a flat tire just past the top of sterkfontein.  Was it a worth while decision to leave behind the extra grams and non aero hump in the skin suit back at bidon Bistro, along with the bottles and cages?  Of course!  ehh.... I don't know about that.  I had to hitch a ride with strangers back to Bidon.  the wind was moderate and consistent. pushing on a few occasions right behind me with never a yaw angle less than 90. So at worst the wind came from the side but really not ever from the front.  I don't feel like my endurance is quite up where it should be for the 40km tt at GP champs.  My power seemed to dip as a sought recovery after the steep sections on Sterkfontein. I don't like to see the power come down below 300 especially when there is more hill to climb, regardless of how deep I went on the previous steep section. Sterkfontein was not the goal here, not the 5km segment but the idea was to get there with a fairly high average speed and then just empty what was left on Sterk. 10:15 was goal I set for the 5 km in a few weeks, and this effort basically satisfies my requirement for that. However, I want to take many more isolated looks at just the 5km segment.   But perhaps in gatorskins and not 'hunt' mode but rather 'training' mode. focussing on wattage more so than speed/time.
