Start was delayed 30min. Kept HR under control in first 5km. Was dusty in 3rd on single tracks, so took lead at ~7km. Felt smooth except on the most technical switchbacks. Fell 20sec behind on Ayagaures water and was trailing until 24km. Sun made the last Barranco a hell’s hole, where I wished I would have carried water. Pulled away at 27km mark by upping tempo.🌞
