Afternoon Ride

Heart Rate is clearly inflated - this was a base ride.

KIT NOTES: 
Medium polypropylene socks, Lake MX145, Castelli Pioggia 3 booties, Polare 2 tights, Brynje fishnet polypro base, Cuore LS thermal base, Castelli Elemento Lite jacket, Castelli Spettacolo ROS glove, Giro Ambient skull cap, Mad Alchemy neck thingy. Craft lobster shells to start.

Clear skies, warm-feeling sun. 40k pavement, 60k snirt, 40k pavement. Mix of open wind exposure and forest cover, moderate effort. 

Results: 
- Warm core 100% of time with minimal wind penetration during fastest descents; no chilling, 💯 comfortable sitting inside cafe @40k and @100k  
- Used wind skirt for first 3 hrs, then after second stop
- Warm legs 100% of duration. Tights took lots of spray from front wheel, and from rear fender snow spray, but dried as I rode, leaving wet section under booty coverage area only, rest was dry. 
- Hands warm inside lobster shells to start, removed them at 30k. A little damp, gloves dried out with zips partially open, remained totally warm for duration.
- Totally comfortable feet for first 2.5 hours, starting to chill a bit during 3rd hour, as water was running in down tights. Socks saturated and cold from 60k on, lots of spray on snirt roads. Should have used waterproof socks with tights over cuffs. Ran somewhat loose forefoot boot tension, snug cuff tension.
- Very comfortable overall, would consider this as close to perfect heat and moisture regulation as I can hope for, feet being a matter of sealing I might have to address with duct tape (over cuffs of waterproof socks).
