Not a PB. But, in some respects, better than a PB. 
Because this was a watershed. Of sorts. I got a pleasing time having done no structured training since Seville, running 72 miles last week (I left it late to start tapering...) and not stressing out over food. When there was dessert at teatime, four bowls came out. It’s usually just three... whereas three is the number of kilos I’ve put on since crossing the line in Andalucía... and I can’t blame them all on the Cruzcampos!
So, in the future, as I get older, I could carry on stressing out over “marginal gains” - or those “marginal gains” could be in weight and pointless stress reduction...
...I’m daft enough to forget this wisdom - but I know which way I’m thinking right now.
