Its strange how much you forget quite how bad some audaxes can be. Most are lumpy, This is just beyond, its stupid hilly. A bitter easterly wind kept temperatures very chill, so the last place you want to be is out front on your own,......in the wind. Unfortunately that was my fate today, leading from start to finish to secure a "audax win". (Ha). a lonely 5 hours groveling around Exmoor. Just don't look at the average speed, at least I raised it in the last 16 km!
Oscar was right though..... Don't want to do this again in a hurry. I'm getting too old for this......
