On 01/29/2013, Tom Soladay wrote 8,400 ft of climbing today on the local hills ride with Julio. I was going to spend the day on the tt bike but he messaged me last night. I didn't have the energy to go fast but we were just grinding up hill all day so that was fine. turned out to be a solid day. Added a new road that went on for 3 miles straight into the foothills. we hit it at 3hrs and it destroyed us. Before we split off we repeated one last hill. On that last hill and 8kft of climbing in I did 5 minutes at 392w. You could hear me breathing a mile away but I was able to smash it after all those previous hills. stoked. all those steep hills put hair on your chest.

I am going out on the TT bike tomorrow. I may do the climbing group ride but I will hang at the back and let the boys race. Likely keep it a little shorter than usual so that I can recover in time for the road race on Saturday. ***
