A perfect sunny day for racing. Our team with Nicholas had the points jersey so we hoped to keep it. A small break went early and the peloton moved along in a controlled manner until the top of Col D Osquich where some big attacks went. I managed to stick with the front chase group but the peloton came back together by Mauleon after the decent. Up Moncayole attacks went again and this time it was the selection. Nicholas (Glacial) was with me so good to have 2 up in the break of about 15. We won the sprint in Bugnein before facing the last climb. I felt good but just could not respond to the attacks near the top and was stuck with 2 others chasing the 4 who broke clear. We finished about a minute back with the remainder of the break a further minute back. Anyway, after a long time of no bike racing very happy with the result for me and the team.
