Cold night in the 'hood

Down in CT visiting my parents for the week. Knew I had to go to Hamden to get at least some of my segments back from Jeff Grant (aka the guy who ran the Regi one way in under an hour, how do you do that?). I was actually trying to get both the one way and the round trip times. Starting from the south side, I hit the north side tree in a daze  from that climb up to the Q at around 1:04. Tried to run a faster trip southbound but wasn't happening. I've got to say, the terrain is so technical, it limits you, even if you're feeling golden, which I was. Said bye-bye to the one-way record around Wintergreen Notch, but ran my hardest to snag the out and back FKT. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for better conditions. The traprock felt so good on the feet, I had forgotten that sensation. Every rock was dry. The weather was perfect, like 70 and sunny with a strong and fresh west breeze. The only thing was that the rock ninjas were out hiding in the early summer high grass. I only had a few stumbles though, no real falls. Ran off of a full breakfast with a bottle of somewhat concentrated Tailwind in a waist pack. Feels good to be building running fitness again.
