Hangover, saw a flying gate

Sitting 10 seconds up on GC at the start of the day. Marked the top 4 riders following wheels and closing gaps. let No. 4 go off in a break 2 laps in. intending to bring it back later. Attempted an attack with 3rd on gc to gap my closest rival but his team were on it and brought it back, some cat and mouse but the break got a good gap of 1min where I showed my  hand and did my best to get the bunch to work together by committing to working,. This worked well on and off and my team did a great job of picking up the slack when the bunch werent working together. gap was brought down 1min - 50s - 40s. final lap comes and a couple shoot off the front, one of which was 5th on GC- my mistake, but reaching the headwind section the break was back in sight and everyone was recommitted with the stage win fully back on the cards. Good chases lead by rifen and the bunch break is brought back in the last 2k or so. but with the 2/3 that came off the bunch still ahead, Unknowing who it was i charged through the final corner and lead the bunch to the sprint. Unfortuately not enough as with time bonuses the lad in 5th from world top gets GC by 1second.
Think i cut it a bit fine, could have been commited to get a prime or not let the break go, but the decisions seemed right.
In general really proud of the team
