Last day of riding at Innsbrook, so I thought I’d take a shot at a couple of KOMs in the area. It was my 9th straight day of riding (something I haven’t done in at least three years), but my legs felt good so I figured I’d give them a shot.

The first was Stracks Church Rd from Hwy M to Hwy O—nearly 8 miles with a steep descent and wicked climb back up right smack in the middle. Gained a good chunk of time on the first half and gave back a little bit in the second half, but mission accomplished! 

The second was the final stretch back to the chalet (Guardhouse to Farmhouse)—an undulating drop with speed bumps and steep sharp turns. I went for it yesterday but ran up on a car about halfway down and had to ride the brakes. Today I had a clear shot and went for it—thought I had it, but some confusion about where the segment ended at the bottom had me sitting up too soon and losing a couple of seconds! Next time!

Biggest week I’ve had in a long time—Tour of Innsbrook alone was 188 miles (more than my biggest week this year), and the total for the week was 268 miles (I can’t even remember the last time I had a 200-mile week, much less nearly 300 miles)!
