Today we reached the Med and ran alongside it, through classy marinas full of billion’s worth of boats of all sizes, past hotels with architectural tricks to outdo their neighbours and beaches seething with seared flesh. Unfortunately we had to come inland some way for a reasonably priced room and will have to retrace about five miles before we can continue along the coast.
