Couldn’t determine how good the towpath was or even if there was one leaving Carcassonne. Also, the canal meanders quite a bit, so we opted for the road for two thirds of the short ride. It involved a few rolling hills but the gradients were ok. Switched to the canal for the last part - a nice change as the road was a fast one. Got to the hotel but they couldn’t give us lunch so we carried on into town.
