Mount Kaweah Day 1: Approach

Bear Basin to Chalfant Lakes via Dancing Bear and Italy Passes. Dancing Bear Pass easy after identifying best route. Contour to Italy Pass over somewhat loose talus and terribly suncupped snowfields, took a while. Trail down from Italy Pass was a ducked route at best, lost it almost immediately. Upper descent to Chalfant Lakes tricky and loose, but worth the effort.
