I went whole-hog on this one. Took off the bottles and bag, even the sunglasses. Got a running start into the segment, which I had never thought about doing. My expectations were actually pretty low -- just coming off of a cold, and while I hadn't spent a lot of time on Crawford this year, the efforts I did so felt sub-par. I figured I could probably get at least 14:30 today, but this result exceeded my expectations. My fastest time on Crawford (Main St. to Blue Mailbox) up to this point has been 14:19, in the pre-Strava era. So, my three goals this year were to do Mt. Washington and hopefully get a time to qualify for the elite wave, which I did; to improve on my time at Greylock, which I didn't (though I did ride it with slightly more power); and to try to at least beat my Crawford Strava time, if not my overall time. So, this was a nice way to end the season.
