K20/K3 to Tenterden Garden Centre

Been meaning to do the HoK sportive for ages.  Last year was a washout.

Got there early and registered, then had breakfast in the canteen.  Set off with Paul & Nathan.  Rain was threatening and it eventually chucked it down around Nettlestead.  Feet were soaked - didn't bring overshoes.  Made decent speed through to Staplehurst as the rain eased off.  Put the hammer down towards Pluckley when we got in a fastish group.  Nathan struggling so eased off.  Had a 'moment' when the back end slid out going round a greasy corner near Smarden.  Stopped in Staplehurst for carrot cake and a sit down at the feed station.  Set off again.  Dropped Nathan around Sheephurst Lane.  Sun came out and got very warm.  Big effort from through Yalding, East Peckham, Hadlow, Gover Hill then all the way back.  Finished with Paul who had to speed off home.  Sat in canteen with a cup of tea.  Nathan turned up.  He'd had cramp and a bust spoke.  Left for home and Nathan went via North Pole Woods.  I headed back via Bow Hill.
