XC Day 11, Tusayan (Grand Canyon) to Tuba City AZ, 84 miles with 3800 feet of climbing. 

Today’s route started by going through the Evergreen forests along the south rim of the Grand Canyon. It was absolutely incredible biking along the Canyon’s walls, something I have always dreamed about doing. Once we got beyond the canyon, we had a 10 mile descent  back down into the Navajo Reservation, through the Painted Desert. 

The weather started out chilly but as we descended down into the desert, it quickly warmed up to a beautiful day. We had sustained winds of 25 mph with gusts up to 58 mph. Normally on a day like this, I would never ride.
