A Day of Postholing on Hawkins and Islip Ridges

Big climbing day today up Mt San Jacinto with great company. I was joined by trail runner and old friend Jeff Dinkin and thru-Hiker “The Machine.” We headed up the mountain together and Jeff came up with us halfway before running back down the mountain. Machine and I kept going to the Crest, and  I made it to the summit by sunset. I snapped a couple of photos but then my R2 unit died. I got down to Idyllwild in the dark. The PCT route up San Jacinto is a pretty well graded route, just long. Enjoyable though!
