Today was a long day mentally. 
I got dropped early, to early. So I was very angry at myself. When I got through the feeding after 90 km, and the guy I was with stopped, I asked our soigneur Frank if I should keep going, as after the feeding it was a long loop with a 23 km mountain on, so there was no way back, he said yes and gave me a quick pep talk as I was riding through him.
I was sitting in a no mans land, only myself and a motorcycle 20 meters in front of me. With 20 km to go after I had been riding solo for 80 km I met one guy which didn’t thought I was a idiot because I kept going. I learned some years ago from my previous teammate Chris Anker that you should always keep fighting until you are pulled out of a race, which I thought a lot about today, and in the end it’s good preparation and training for the upcoming races and season and a small victory mentally
