Team: Steve Biglands, Julian Williams, Jez Lowe and myself with fantastic support from Dan Toft. After a vomit-free Channel crossing, we had a bite to eat, re-assembled the bikes and headed out into the cool mist. We got as much sleep as was possible on the ferry floor. I was woken up by a crunch in my neck, which hurt at the time, but was fine once on the bike (weird!). I decided the temperature was fine for shorts and fingerless gloves. This was almost true...once we started moving, I realised the passing air made my hands frozen, but at the same time I didn't want to stop as the exercise encouraged blood flow! We made it to our first stop in Neufchatel En Bray in good time and although I was feeling a bit better today, I was still concerned we weren't going to be able to sustain the solid pace we were travelling at. After a brief stint on the Ave Verte (which killed our average pace), we got back on the roads and hammered along quite nicely and actually got faster as the ride went on (despite the climbing). Paris slowed us down somewhat. We didn't get much luck with the lights! What a great ride though, it was fantastic! Cheers fellas.
