A quarter is a 6 hour period. The first quarter starts at 6PM where you run 20mi. Followed by a quarter rest. Then a quarter run at 6am the next day for 20mi, followed by a quarter rest. Followed by another 6pm running quarter of 20mi that same day. After the 6th quarter, rest, you do a final quarter of running 20mi. In total it spans almost 2 days for 80mi.

You get to see 2 sunrises and 2 sunsets as well as get your sleep. Quarters are small enough to be managed.
