The gate that was open for two of three laps around the reservoir was inexplicably closed and locked for third...conveniently located in the valley between two sharp hills where you carry speed into the climb...I lost the camo green gate in the shadows until 30’ at which point it was a fist full brakes, and some Braveheart recital of “hold...hold...HOLD!!!...” to scrub as much speed as possible before the inevitable “NOW”...dump on my side, finishing with wheels under the gate and some good raspberries on my contact points...back rib hurts too....I’m getting too old for this!!!

Always on the last lap on the way home too...just like skiing...
