Notes:
- Popular climb! We saw about 10 other parties, but we were the last of the day, it looked like.
- The "use trail" is a trail until the turn to Alpine Lake.
- The climb up to Alpine Lake is over awkward, bushy terrain. Easier far left of the creek, more willows and talus closer to the creek.
- Beautiful setting at Alpine Lake, talus all around.
- Easy hiking with a scamble move here and there up to the ridge. Nothing difficult.
- Walk across an impressive broad plateau to the summit block, which looks intimidating from afar.
- Climbing the summit block isn't too bad. Some exposed catwalk moves 2,000' above the glacier, but everything's solid. There are even some seemingly constructed steps on the final bits to the summit. When in doubt, follow the footprints.
- Got back just before dark for a nice afternoon outing. Mosquitoes were picking up in the evening light.
