Morning Run 🦮

Doing this trail as an out-and-back has been a goal for 2 years, and it *seemed* like a good idea for this week after I saw there was still no women's FKT submitted after nearly 2 months. Labeled "Race" because it was intended as a fast unsupported attempt (6-7 hours), even though I quickly bailed on any speed goals. Painfully humbling experience. 

Rode the struggle bus from the start of mile 3 til the finish. Arches hurt uphill, foot/ankle abrasion ached on the downhills. The brush is no joke and I regretted choosing not to carry pruners. It's over 6ft and contains blackberry vines that reach across the trail and tangle in brush on the other side. Overgrowth is my mental Achilles heel.

Ran out of planned calories at 6.5 hours, consumed emergency calories at 7.5 hours, and trudged the remaining 2.5 hours on a deepening bonk of despair that this would never end. Thanks, Michael, for being at the TMT-WT3 junction when I got down, and for patiently waiting all the extra hours before then. 

Started at 07:46, finished at 17:46, for a total time of 10:00:31. Bucket list run complete, unsupported women's FKT regretfully set.
