Morning Ride

COLORADO license plate 168 ZJP, silver ford Taurus, early 2000's.  I don't think the cop cared as he appeared to be off duty (probably on his way home).  I should have run into the motorist when he cut me off, instead of using my hand to push off his car.  At least his car would have been damaged.

Here's the whole story: 
I was going ~28mph and he pulled out in front of me, about 100 ft ahead.  I went around him so as to not hit him.  He seemed mad about this and tried to pass me at a stop sign, but I was in the middle of the road and there was a car coming.  He passed and started to slow, moved to the yellow line.  I moved to the white line and he proceeded to move towards the white line also.  I got a little closer and he darted right onto a side street and I had to slide the bike and push off his car to keep from hitting him.  He stopped and got out screaming at me.  I threatened to call the cops.  He came over to get into my face (1 inch from my face), I threatened again to report his license.  He stood there calling me rude things, and I did the same to him (which wasn't the right thing to do on my part).  He finally walked back to his car and I again said I would report his license number.  He turned around and came a little closer, then went back to his car and left.  I then rode to the next side street and saw a Ft. Collins officer and flagged him down.  I told him the story and he said 'Okay, thank you.'  I said thank you and rode off (then to top it off my chain broke, so I ended up coasting home).

That was more for my record than anyone else's, but I could have avoided this whole situation if I had slammed on the brakes and not passed him when he pulled out in front of me.  The swearing on my part didn't help either.
