So to begin, this was supposed to be a 100miler, but of course - some setbacks as usual put a halt to this. First notable event came when I decided to take a charge at my favorite (and also most hated) hill segment: Hamilton Hill Farm. The wind was favorable, so it couldn't hurt to get some climbing in. Well, I wasn't the only one headed for the top. Right as I was climbing the last part of the segment, literally just got to the top and had about 30 seconds of flat to the finish. And out comes a visitor. I see a bear run out onto the road. He sees me, freaks out and bolts into the woods, and i u-turn and bolt back down the hill. So a change of plans, no biggie. A few km's later - my tire goes flat out of no where. The 10000th time this season. So, considering i was extremely far from anything, and i still haven't got my spare tubes in yet (hence the cannondale still being used), I had to call for backup and waited about 45 minutes on the side of the highway until my hero for the day showed up with a spare wheel. It wasnt the most aero thing around but, but neither is my steel beast of a ride so it worked fine. At this point I'm almost over this ride. But continue on. Long story short (well, shorter), I gave up with the whole pacing strategy and just hammered it- i wasn't fast enough and eventually ran out of daylight. The final 10km was basically in total darkness. So no hamilton hill farm PR, and no 100 mile ride. But i made it home in one piece, managed a KoM that i didn't know existed, and got in the ol' Canadian century. Turned out to be a decent adventure.

Sidenote: took a dive and shaved the beard and legs for some easy watt savings. Also - kept the stash for bonus aero gainz.

Next stop: Wheelhouse
