I came across this route on Alltrails.com, and decided to give it a go. Training towards Autumn 100 in October, so August is going to have quite a few long runs in the calendar.

Started at The Gun Pub, just above Wash Common, Newbury, and ran to Whitchurch, following probably 75% farmers paths and 25% B-roads. The route passes various locations that had inspired Watership Down author Michael Adams while writing his book (we had lived within 10 miles of Wash Common for his whole life). 

Things I spotted:

1 rabbit. (Was hoping for more...),
2 deer,
Many herds of cows,
A sneezing sheep,
Lots of Red Kites,
Race horses in training on Ashley Warren,
Almost fully grown ducklings (still acting like little ones)
