Super enjoyable morning running the 3 highest peaks in Utah - Gilbert, Kings, and South Kings.  I lowered the previously-reported FKT (set in 2012) by ~45 minutes: https://fastestknowntime.com/route/utah-triple-crown-ut

Part of the 'fun' of this route is choosing your favorite talus-hopping path to Gilbert and back, as everyone seems to do this section differently.  Happy with my choice which was scouted via Google Earth.

There's definitely room to take a lot of time off this, especially for someone strong with more familiarity of the area (I had run Kings once - my first-ever ultra-length outing back in 2013 w/ John K., and we took the long way via Painter Basin, so even the Gunsight-to-Anderson shortcut was new to me today).  The altitude was hitting me a bit which is kinda unusual - I felt great on Gilbert, but afterward I was moving like an absolute slug above ~12k.  Had a blast nonetheless, and just had to laugh at my own klutziness as I stumbled around on South Kings with two left feet trying not to pull a Ralston on one of those huge but unstable boulders.  Definitely not my most graceful day ever.  Despite that I was well on my way to my A goal of 7:30, until I took a ginormous superman about 7 miles from the car after catching one of the thousands of embedded boulders with my toe... major ouch.  Blasted both kneecaps, tweaked my thumb, donated some flesh to the Gods of the High Uintas.  It took a few minutes to recover and start walking, and I never really got rolling again down Henry's Fork.  Then I capped it off with a left ankle roll trying to pass a group with some off-leash dogs on one of the worst rocky sections.  D'oh!  It just added to the adventure though, along with the challenge of dodging a few hundred people and some llamas on the trail (no joke... FS Ranger at the TH counted nearly 200 cars yesterday!!)

Overall, I'm super happy with the effort, and even more I was stoked to have a good excuse to hit a couple overlooked 13ers that are a little off the beaten path.  Big thanks to Craig, Davy, and others for putting this route on the radar for all of us to enjoy!
