Part of me wanted to run the Via Alpina to see where my body’s limit is. Seems the answer is 240 km since my left leg quit this morning in Lauterbrunnen. 😕 I’ve had some discomfort the other days, but now my ankle and quad are really painful. 

I started earlier because I knew and feared the climb up to Sefinenfurgge and Quentin really scared me for the climb up to the Blümlisalphütte. To be honest I thought nothing could be worse then climbing up Jochpass in the freezing rain at 20:45, but I was so wrong! The climb was pure agony. I was late for dinner, tired, my leg hurt and the climb is just so, so long and barren.  I actually cried through half of the accent. See the pictures.. it just goes on and on for 1300m. 

Luckily I spend the rest of the day happily gawking at every angle of the Eiger. Sorry for all the pictures.. I just can’t help myself around this mountain. 😍  

Guess the only option is to eat, stretch, take pills, change shoes and reevaluate the leg situation in Kandersteg tomorrow morning.
