I was entirely unprepared for how long, difficult, and late this ride was. The hills were punishing but the views are some of my favorite (I love farm country). Actually had to use my headlight for vision instead of traffic safety. And, from about mile 38 to the end I was pedaling as hard as I could muster because the swarms of gnats were so thick I could barely keep my eyes open. All in all, a good day. 😀
