Alpine Valley Opening Weekend

Cooler temps, drier air, northerly breeze. I’m burnin’ for some turnin’. The new sticks arrived this week, genuine race skis, plates under the bindings. Full camber (no sissy tip rocker). These skis will either be kick ass or possibly kick my ass. 
Came close to crashing today, at AV no less.  I didn’t see the well camouflaged speed bump entering the base area and hit it at 20+. Got launched and landed a bit tangential to my direction of travel. Locked up the back wheel which sent me over the curb into the grass and into the branches of a sapling in the parkway. Down the curb on the other side and finally was able to halt forward momentum. Other than a few scratches from the branches everything is ok. No pinch flats, wheels still true, everything intact on the bike. Dumb luck I didn’t crash. No one around to view the circus act!
