Night Walk

Another cemetery in Texas' eastern sand woodlands. Here there was open ground to the north of the cemetery where I found Cicindela formosa pigmentosignata (7 collected of 9 seen) and C. scutellaris rugata (3 of 4) on sparsely vegetated deep dry sand 2-track, managing also to get field photos of the former before it got too hot and they became too active. I found a few more pigmentosignata (2 of 3) in the open sandy ground just outside the northwestern edge of the cemetery. The oldest headstone I found was also the most poignant—a one and a half-year old boy who died in 1881.
