Thrilled with my race today. Can you believe my wife supports me in all the time I spend on the bike?! She is the best. I assure you, she has the opposite effect on leg strength than the movie Rockie claims.

Big thanks to Mike Bartels, who will also be a top finisher in the race today. Earlier this year he worked with me to cure some chronic knee, neck and back pain. He revolutionized my pedal stroke. If not for his help, I would have never been able to average 20.3 mph on this dirt and gravel course.

Brian Johnson (2nd place) was the last guy with me. We separated at mile 50. He is just coming back from a broken leg! He may be the toughest guy I ride with. Great to spend so much time with him.
