Surprised myself today. Really happy to come through and get this in after the 500km ride we did yesterday. My hope is you see how committed I am to this. Please take a minute to sign up for the RIDE4REAL. I feel bad that I haven’t been able to send out personal invites to everyone. This event started quickly and for the last 10 days it has been FULL GAS! All of this posting and promotion is mainly being done while I’m riding. It’s insanely hard to keep up with it all but I’m desperately trying. As I stated I am seriously committed because it is supporting some very worthwhile causes This event is helping to support cycling and our youth. Everyone talks about growing the sport. Let’s start with keeping it alive first. We can’t lose the Forest City Velodrome. Anyone living with or knows anyone living with MS can attest that this is something we should really support. At the end of this we want to donate at least $1 for every kilometre traveled during this challenge. As of today I’m at 2900. And lastly the Real Hero project. It is something I have been dreaming about for years and with some beautiful people passing away recently and quite a few sad moments as of late I just woke up and decided it’s time to go after it. Live like I’m dying. To make the dream a reality and do whatever it takes to make it happen. The Real Hero is a female lion super hero that brings energy and power to people in need. She also rewards the unsung heroes in our community with visits and gifts. This hero will visit schools, hospitals, retirement homes and sporting events giving out stickers, comic books and a wonderful message. The operating costs for FCV are $130,000 a year. We are hoping to raise $100,000 to significantly cover the majority of those costs and provide the Canadian MS society and the Real Hero project with a $1 per kilometre travelled donation. 

Please take a minute to register. It’s only $10. There is no obligation to donate, only do if you are able. Then please tell someone about it. Title your ride, post the link, start a fundraising team, tell your club, team message a friend or family member. That would help SO MUCH! If in doubt you can always just think “what would the Real Hero do?”
