CTS/Strava training plan “Forty-Five Second Sprint”. Week 2, Day 6: "Sprints, Tempo".

6x1 min sprints, 3x12 min tempo. First sprint attempt disrupted, had to find a new spot. Not great efforts, not completely terrible either. Seems recently to take me a few goes to get into a good sprinting mindset. Pretty sure by now that my highest average power over 1 min or less comes when staying out of the saddle the whole time, but I spin out or fatigue if I start with a max kick. Keep forgetting to try a somewhat gradual ramp-up until after a few messy sprints. Doing these on a hill, even a little one like today's, seems to help sustain effort throughout.

I ran out of daylight to do the tempo called for, but I'm going to count my rides home from the airport earlier this week as today's tempo, and the rides out as Sunday's (Week 2, Day 7) endurance workout. Skipping today's rest day (Week 3, Day 1), that puts me back on schedule tomorrow for Week 3, Day 2.
