Afternoon Ride

Solo ride to my alma mater, MTSU. 
I always used to tell myself “man, it’d be nuts to ride from Nashville to Mboro” 

Well, I did it... and it wasn’t remarkable in anyway; just work 

Things got nice when I went toward Cedars of Lebanon /mt Juliet area

Got my 300 for the week; top 5 week for me all year
A new high for me in TN 
No cramps/No soreness/A few stops; nothing longer than 10 minutes or so

Started the ride with a route I learned from a local, Neil; it was perfect. I was able to go from 4th ave in downtown, all the way out to 41. I did it all from memory, too! This ride is definitely a Sunday morning kind of ride as traffic was extremely calm and not much was moving around. 

Rain in last hour
Would’ve gone for centy if not cold/wet/hungry 

Legs feel great
Will be trying to ride all week again... 😅

Overall

- I'll probably never do THIS exact route again 
- shoulder riding in Nashville is love/hate... love that there IS a shoulder for 95% of the ride; hate the fact that theres a lot of glass/debri/animal carcus... I understand why road riding isn’t everyone’s cup of tea in Nashville... 
- I meant to turn left at the smyrna airport to cross the bridge over the lake... but, I decided to use the fact that I was *already* near mboro to just go ahead and get there. 
- caught a flat in murfreesboro from a damn train track... took me 4 minutes to replace and get rolling again 
- wind was shifting around from SSW to SSE... so weird.. I was always fighting the wind (except when going north) 
- I havent done a rain ride in a long time... HUGE difference in stopping power between rim brakes and disc... I'm sure MY rim brakes need tuning, but still doesn't compare to stopping with disc... 
- I picked a really nice day/morning to get out. It was quite dead outside; loved it!
