Down Week

This part of the hill is 2.4/5%.  Jog back as rest.  Times may not look like much, but this was one of the greatest efforts I have ever had.  Elevation does that lol.  Took what I learned from last time and got out harder with more focus, and that paid off for the first 3 reps.  At that point I could barely breathe, and I fell apart a bit rep 4.  It took everything I had to get back on track rep 5, and after that I could barely jog back to the bottom without falling over and I almost called it.  I got on the line for the last rep though, focused on form and cadence and made it happen, then collapsed.  It took about 15 minutes for me to able to stand up for a long enough time to be able to run home.  One of those workouts when you can taste blood in your mouth, can barely stand up, can’t breath and wanna throw up after.  That’s how you know it’s a goodie.  

During the 5th rep I was thinking, why do I do this to myself?  6th rep felt triumphant enough to remind me.  I’ll see y’all tomorrow for an easy run, then long on Saturday.  I’ll see y’all then, peace.  

p.s. looks like I tied the course record.
