Setting off from Great Bromley and returning to there in the dark with a strong SW wind, it was expected to be a hard slog back from the mid control point at Diss. Whilst the wind was in our faces a fair bit and there were some lumps to be scaled, it was overall not as bad as concerned.  A fine showing from the YACF Essex peloton though with some notable characters missing we managed to mostly stick together till the end.  We even missed the rain whilst we were at the Sudbury control point of McDonalds.  
A couple of learning points to take away for a next time were I need to try and keep a lid on the effort, taking advantage of the tail wind on the way out is one thing, trying to keep the same pace when into the wind whilst this might be a good effort, it's probably not the best way to efficiently get round the 200km... also need to build up some core strength to get a bit more comfortable on the bike...
Overall quite fun and I am now an official audax randonneur apparently :)
